c. 1930s/1940s; Goldfeder Silverware Co. – Brooklyn, NY Elegant matched pair of silverplate candelabras by Sol Goldfeder, each with three candle arms and a central stem rising from a stepped circular base. The design incorporates neoclassical detailing including beaded rims, foliate accents at the arm junctions, and smoothly tapering columns. The restrained symmetry and classical vocabulary are characteristic of early 20th-century American tableware, when silvered candelabras served as both functional lighting and formal dining centerpieces. Sol Goldfeder was a New York-based American manufacturer active in the early 20th century, producing electroplated hollowware and decorative silverplate for the domestic market. The SGEP hallmark stamped to the bases denotes Sol Goldfeder Electro Plated, identifying the maker and construction method and confirming American manufacture.
Both examples show even tarnish and age-related patina, with moderate surface wear and areas of plating loss at the bases and candle sockets consistent with long-term use.
