c. 1910s-1920s; Nippon (Japan) Porcelain caviar dish with integrated bowl and underplate, hand-painted with a delicate floral garland motif and accented with gilt borders. The design features soft yellow and red blossoms framed by geometric paneling and blue diamond reserves-an elegant fusion of Japanese artistry and Western decorative influence typical of Nippon export porcelain. The gently scalloped edges and refined symmetry highlight the period’s taste for finely detailed handwork. Produced during Japan’s Nippon era (1891-1921), when porcelain bearing the "Nippon" mark was exported worldwide, pieces such as this reflect the high standards of craftsmanship that helped establish Japan as a leader in fine ceramics.
