c. 1880s-1890s; Staffordshire Potteries – England Decorative ironstone pitcher featuring a paneled lower body with embossed geometric patterning and a smooth upper section adorned with hand-colored violet blossoms and gilt vine accents. The molded handle and raised leaf border below the rim reflect the ornate yet balanced design sensibilities of late Victorian domestic ware. Its cream-toned glaze and substantial weight are characteristic of English ironstone production, prized for both durability and aesthetic refinement. Staffordshire potteries dominated the English ceramic trade during the 19th century, producing a wide range of ironstone tableware and washstand pieces for export throughout Europe and America, celebrated for their strength and detailed relief work.
