Lot 444:
Description
C-14632
This late 19th century physician’s apothecary kit features a worn leather case with a folding handle and clasp front, housing two tiers of glass vials. The upper flap secures 14 cylindrical bottles with cork or glass stoppers, while the base compartment holds 11 additional vials with rounded bases, likely for liquid or powdered compounds. Several labels remain partially intact, offering a glimpse into period medicinal formulations once stored inside.
Wear consistent with age including leather cracking, scuffing, and edge loss; missing or faded vial labels; some vials appear to retain traces of original contents.
