c. 1880s-1890s; Wm. Rogers Silver Co. and International Silver Co. Silverplated water pitcher with a bulbous body, flared spout, and ornately cast handle terminating in scrolled flourishes. The piece rests on four repoussé feet with shell and foliate accents, lending stability and elegance. Produced by Wm. Rogers and ISC, leading 19th-century American silverplate manufacturers, the companies were known for their innovative plating methods and wide range of decorative tablewares. After combining under the banner of International Silver Co. in 1898, Rogers’ name continued to be used as a mark of quality. This pitcher reflects the Victorian taste for rich ornamentation while remaining practical as a serving vessel.
Condition shows age-appropriate tarnish, minor surface abrasions, and patina consistent with long use and storage. No structural cracks or breaks noted; feet and handle remain solid.
