Multi-Estate Spring 2026 Auction
Lot 514:
Description
C-19611
Group of three early twentieth-century lithographed advertising tins originally used for the sale of tobacco and cigars. The assortment includes two cylindrical Velvet Pipe Tobacco tins and a rectangular Outlook Cigars tin. Each container retains remnants of its original printed graphics and branding typical of American tobacco packaging from the period.
The Velvet tin features its recognizable shield-style branding and was widely marketed as a smooth pipe tobacco during the early twentieth century. The rectangular Outlook tin likely held cigars and is decorated with ornate borders and period typography.
All three tins show heavy age-related wear including surface rust, scratches, oxidation, fading, and areas of paint loss consistent with long-term use and storage. Graphics remain partially visible across each example.
Velvet: 5" dia and 6.25" H
