c. 1930s–1950s; Western Stoneware Co. (Monmouth Pottery) – Monmouth, IL
Cream-glazed stoneware cookie canister with brown transfer decoration reading “COOKIES” framed by a floral garland motif. The body is cylindrical with a warm ivory glaze, paired with a ribbed, high-gloss brown lid and matching rounded knob. The underside bears the impressed maple leaf mark reading “Monmouth Ill USA, ” identifying production from the Monmouth, Illinois pottery works of Western Stoneware.
Shows light surface wear, minor glaze imperfections, and small areas of discoloration on the body consistent with age and handling. Lid glaze remains glossy and intact. No major cracks observed; structurally solid.
