Multi-Estate Spring 2026 Auction
Lot 211:
Description
C-19238
Cast brass crumb tray featuring a flowing Art Nouveau female figure in relief, her hair and garment merging into the organic lines of the tray’s border. The elongated pan has softly scalloped edges and a sinuous, sculptural handle that continues the whiplash curve typical of the period. The central field depicts the maiden in profile, surrounded by stylized botanical elements rendered in low relief. The reverse is plain, showing hammering and casting marks consistent with early production methods. Warm brass patina highlights the raised design while darker toning settles into recessed areas, reinforcing the sculptural depth.
Shows age-appropriate wear including surface scratches, oxidation spotting, and patina variation throughout. Minor shallow dents visible on reverse. No cracks observed. Sold as found.
9.75” W
