Description

1830s teardrop-form brass powder flask with deeply embossed Civil War-era martial motifs, including crossed flags, a cannon barrel, drum, musket, and powder horn arranged in high relief across the body. The lower portion features crossed implements above a shield-like cartouche, while the sides retain their original iron suspension rings for belt attachment. The spout assembly remains intact at the top, with stepped collar and measuring nozzle typical of period sporting and military powder flasks.
Shows surface wear consistent with age including scratches, small dents, and oxidation throughout. Patina is even with darker toning in recessed areas. Suspension rings intact. Mechanism not tested for spring tension; sold as found.
