Multi-Estate Spring 2026 Auction
Lot 118:
Description
C-19155
Set of five amethyst art glass tumblers with heavily textured, organic surfaces and a subtle ombré shift from deep plum at the base to lighter rose tones toward the rim. Each glass features an irregular, molten-style relief pattern—raised circular dimples and flowing, wave-like contours that catch and refract light across the surface. The rims remain smooth and slightly flared, offering contrast to the tactile exterior.
The coloration carries a smoky translucence, pooling darker at the base and lightening upward, giving the set depth and tonal variation when grouped together. Thick-walled and substantial in hand, these tumblers lean into the expressive, almost brutalist glass vocabulary of the late midcentury period—where texture and weight took precedence over refinement.
Light surface wear consistent with age; minor base scuffs from use. No major chips or cracks observed.
3” Dia and 4.75” H each
