Substantial handwoven wicker gathering basket constructed from thick, natural vine with a tightly twisted upright handle. The body is formed in a classic oval profile with reinforced rim banding and upright stake supports visible along the interior wall.
The tall, spiral-twisted handle rises cleanly from opposing sides of the rim, integrating directly into the structural weave. The basket shows varied vine thickness and natural surface irregularities consistent with hand assembly. Interior view reveals traditional stake-and-weave construction, with trimmed ends and exposed cut points characteristic of working farm baskets.
Condition is good antique condition with age-appropriate dryness, minor vine breaks, and visible trimmed ends along the interior rim. Structurally stable overall with honest wear consistent with field use.
