Bell System telephone test and training set, housed in its original portable case with rotary desk phone and tone/signal unit.
Designed for field technicians and training purposes, this compact kit includes a rotary telephone handset alongside a gray control box outfitted with tone, signal, and balance dials, input/output jacks, and labeled sockets for "Left" and "Right" phones. The components fit into a reinforced fiberboard case with corner protectors and latches, built for portability and durability.
Sets like these were used to train operators and troubleshoot local telephone lines, ensuring service reliability during the rapid expansion of Bell’s national network. The rugged case and specialized equipment reflect the technical precision and industrial design of mid-century telecommunications.
Untested. Exterior shows scuffs and handling wear; control unit retains its original labeling and wiring. Phone and dials exhibit expected patina consistent with age.
