Additional Details:
Framed oil on canvas depicting a quiet rural landscape centered on a weathered barn, stone outbuilding, and a prominent leafless tree rendered in subdued autumnal tones. Executed in a traditional representational manner, the composition emphasizes the quiet character of an aging farmstead through soft atmospheric handling and restrained earth-tone coloration. The painting is presented in a vintage wood frame with a linen liner and gilt fillet. The reverse bears the inscription “Jahn ’62,” indicating the work was completed in 1962.
Canvas remains stable and displays light age-related craquelure with scattered surface wear consistent with age. Frame exhibits scattered finish wear, scratches, and numerous small worm holes throughout the wood. Linen liner shows minor discoloration and a small spot of paint transfer near the lower edge. Backing paper has a tear at the upper center but the painting remains structurally sound and ready for display.
