Early 20th century; John Duffy Framed religious tin lithograph titled St. Rita of Cascia depicting Saint Rita of Cascia in black habit holding a crucifix while attended by angels and cherubs presenting floral garlands and a crown of thorns. Additional devotional elements including roses, rosary beads, and a small crucifix appear within the composition. The softly rendered coloration and devotional imagery are characteristic of early 20th century Catholic religious lithography intended for home or parish display. The image is executed directly on tin and mounted within a faux bois finished wood frame with deep molded profile. No glass present.
Shows scattered spotting, discoloration, scratches, and age-related wear throughout the lithographed tin surface. Frame exhibits scratches, finish wear, scuffs, and losses concentrated along edges and corners. Reverse shows finish loss, abrasions, and handling wear from age and storage.
