Lot 246:
Description
C-18124
A charming early 20th-century six-piece graniteware kitchen set, featuring a range of essential cookware and serving vessels in mottled gray enamel. The collection includes a tall coffee pot with hinged lid and spout cover, a handled lidded kettle, a cylindrical milk can, a handled saucepan, a small pail with wire bail, and a perforated strainer-all unified by their speckled gray finish and utilitarian craftsmanship. Each piece showcases the textured enamel surface characteristic of turn-of-the-century enamelware, where form met durability in everyday domestic life. Graniteware, first developed in the late 19th century, became a staple of American kitchens due to its resistance to rust and heat, produced by numerous Midwest and East Coast manufacturers who specialized in enamel-coated steel and iron cookware.
Light wear and surface oxidation present throughout, with some enamel loss along rims and handles consistent with age and use.
Pitcher: 8.5" dia x 11" H
