c. 1890s-1900s; New Amsterdam Silver Co. – New York, NY Ornate quadruple-plate silver candy or nut dish featuring repoussé floral engraving, scrolled handles, and a domed lid topped with an intricate foliate finial. The bowl rests on four heavily cast rococo-style feet, while the floral motifs on the body display the fine hand-etched detailing typical of late 19th-century American silverplate. A hallmark on the base reads New Amsterdam Silver Co. Quadruple Plate with the number 617. Operating in New York at the turn of the century, New Amsterdam Silver Co. specialized in high-quality table and decorative silverware, producing pieces that rivaled the craftsmanship of larger firms like Meriden and Reed & Barton during the golden age of American silverplate.
Shows even tarnish and light surface wear throughout with age-consistent patination; no major dents or damage noted.
