Lot 228:
Description
C-18033
Grouping of five vintage kitchen implements featuring painted wooden handles in green and red. Includes a full-size rolling pin, a hand-crank can opener, a bottle opener, a serrated apple corer/peeler, and a krinkle cutter for vegetables or dough. These tools reflect the utilitarian yet colorful style of early-to-mid 20th century kitchens, where enamel-painted or lacquered handles were both decorative and practical. Such tools were produced by a wide range of American hardware and houseware companies during the period, often sold through department stores and mail-order catalogs. The use of painted wood handles became especially popular in the 1930s as part of the "Depression era green" kitchen aesthetic.
All pieces show surface wear and paint loss consistent with use, while retaining good structural integrity. A charming matched set for display or continued use.
Rolling pin: 17.5" L Other Items: From 6" to 8" L
