The bird is perched atop a sculpted log and grassy mound, its alert posture and vivid plumage capturing the poised energy of the young kingfisher species. This model-marked "Boehm – Made in U.S.A." and numbered 449-exemplifies the studio’s midcentury mastery of both anatomical realism and expressive composition. Founded in 1950 in Trenton, New Jersey, Edward Marshall Boehm, Inc. became internationally celebrated for its porcelain wildlife studies, combining scientific observation with exceptional craftsmanship and artistic sensitivity.
