Description

C-19071

Charming pair of antique porcelain sugar bowls featuring two distinct yet complementary decorative styles. The first example is a cylindrical vessel with molded Art Nouveau-style relief ornamentation and a delicate transfer floral spray motif. Its domed lid is topped with a loop handle, and the body features soft raised scrollwork and embossed detailing typical of late nineteenth- to early twentieth-century European tableware. The second example displays a more structured square form with a scalloped rim, double handles, and a fitted lid with a stylized loop finial. The body is decorated with warm orange and brown floral branches accented with gilt highlights along the handles and edges. The squared silhouette and geometric handle design reflect a transitional aesthetic between late Victorian and early twentieth-century porcelain forms.

Both pieces show light age-related wear consistent with use and display. Minor gilt loss and surface marks are present. The molded cylindrical example exhibits some light discoloration in the glaze and faint crazing typical of antique porcelain. No major cracks observed.
