Description

C-18818

Pair of bound photographic albums comprising one upright standing album and one horizontal album, each constructed with heavy boards and chamois-covered exteriors. The green album is designed in a vertical, easel-style format intended for tabletop or mantel display, while the red album follows a traditional flat-bound form. Both retain original interior leaves for photographs, consistent with albums made for cabinet cards and early photographic prints around the turn of the century. Photographic albums of this type were commonly produced in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as personal photography became more widespread, serving as domestic repositories for family portraits, studio images, and commemorative photographs.

Both albums show fair condition overall with surface wear, edge wear, spine rubbing, and age-related toning. The green standing album shows minor repairs to the rear support legs; it stands upright but is not particularly sturdy. No loose pages observed. Sold together as a pair.
