c. 1910s/1920s; Welker & Wimmer – Wiesloch, Germany Solid oak cigar press constructed with a hinged two-plate clamping system, designed to shape and finish handmade cigars during rolling and curing. The interior faces are fluted with evenly spaced cigar channels, while the exterior retains a simple, rectangular form with chamfered edges and pegged corner construction. The top surface bears a stamped maker’s mark for Welker & Wimmer, consistent with early 20th-century German cigar-making tools produced for professional and small-scale workshop use. Welker & Wimmer of Wiesloch specialized in cigar-making equipment and wooden forms during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, supplying tools to the cigar industry in Germany’s Baden region, a historic center of European cigar production.

Shows surface wear throughout including scuffs, edge rounding, and finish loss consistent with age and use. Interior channels show expected wear from repeated pressing. Structurally sound with no major cracks or repairs observed.
