c. 1980s/1990s; Flambeau, Inc. – Baraboo, WI Molded mallard hen duck decoy produced by Flambeau, featuring carved feather texturing and painted surface details in muted brown, gray, and tan tones appropriate to a hen profile. The decoy is mounted on its original weighted base and bears the molded Flambeau mark to the underside, consistent with the company’s late 20th-century hunting decoy production. Designed for durability and realism, this example reflects Flambeau’s transition-era decoys bridging traditional wood-form aesthetics with modern manufacturing methods. Flambeau Outdoors, a division of Flambeau Plastics, based in Baraboo, Wisconsin, was a major American producer of hunting and outdoor equipment, widely known for their waterfowl decoys used by recreational and commercial hunters throughout the late 20th century.
Shows minor surface and paint wear consistent with age and field use. No cracks or structural damage observed. Base present and secure.
