Description

C-21657

Grouping of two American stoneware "bean pots" with two-tone glaze decoration. The larger pot features a dark Albany slip glazed upper body over a light Bristol glazed lower body with opposing lug handles, both examples retain their original fitted lids with button finial and lug handles. Produced in the United States, circa 1890–1930.

Both pieces exhibit glaze wear, manufacturing irregularities, and general surface wear consistent with age and use. The larger bean pot has scattered chips and flakes around the foot rim and bottom. The smaller bean pot has minor glaze wear and scattered edge chips. Other than cracks in bottom surface of larger pot, no major cracks observed in the photographs.
