WWII-era U.S. Army enlisted men’s brown melton wool overcoat with gilt eagle buttons and belted back, accompanied by seven assorted caps and brimmed hats. Hats are various sizes and include felt, corduroy, tweed, and other fabrics; one retains retail tags. c. 1940s; United States
Overcoat shows scattered wear, staining, surface marks, and several small holes and fabric losses. Interior lining has age related wear, stamped 36R and other handwritten markings. Hats show varying wear, soiling, fading, and creasing. Gray felt hat has moth damage to the brim and significant deterioration to the interior leather sweatband. One hat retains retail tags.
