Rustic Wooden Chest with Iron Latches

Rectangular wooden storage box with a lift lid, hand-forged iron hasp, and interior divider creating two storage compartments. Constructed from wide sawn boards with nailed joinery and applied corner battens. The utilitarian construction and hardware are consistent with late 19th to early 20th century manufacture.
Wear, scratches, scuffs, and surface abrasions throughout consistent with age and use. Wood exhibits shrinkage, checking, scattered splits, and small losses, particularly along the lid and lower edges. Iron hasp shows oxidation and retains no lock. Structurally sound overall. Latch does close but it is very tight and difficult to unlatch.
