Group of five occupational and uniform-style hats including a striped railroad cap, green European-style peaked cap, boat captain’s cap, blue conductor or railway uniform cap, and gray Civil War era military-style wool cap. Includes examples by Wentworth-Forman Co. of Philadelphia and Broner, c. mid to late 20th.
Green peaked hat shows substantial deterioration with heavy wear and material loss; brim is separating from the body. Boat captain’s hat is noticeably yellowed and soiled with age and handling wear. Blue conductor-style cap has substantial deterioration and loss to the interior lining. Remaining hats show varying soiling, discoloration, scratches, creasing, and general age and handling wear.
