c. 1892; George Newnes Ltd. – London, England Bound volume of The Strand Magazine comprising issues from January through June 1892, housed in a contemporary publisher’s half-leather binding with green cloth boards, gilt-ruled spine, and marbled page edges. This volume includes illustrated literary and cultural content typical of the period, with engraved portraits, essays, and serialized fiction. Notably, it contains early installments of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle, accompanied by original illustrations, reflecting the magazine’s pivotal role in popularizing the character. The Strand Magazine was one of the most influential illustrated periodicals of the late Victorian era, renowned for its high-quality printing and for debuting serialized works that shaped popular literature at the turn of the 20th century.
