Heavy forged iron restraint set consisting of two hinged cuffs joined by a short length of thick link chain. Each cuff features a pivoting loop with a cylindrical locking barrel and integrated hinge pin construction, suggesting use as transport or holding restraints. The chain is hand-forged with irregular, hammered links, showing clear evidence of blacksmith fabrication rather than later machine production. Surface retains a dark, aged patina with visible hammer marks and wear consistent with prolonged utilitarian use.
Shows heavy age and use including surface oxidation, pitting, and wear to edges and contact points. Hinges and mechanisms appear intact but are untested; overall structurally solid with expected wear from age.
