Assorted group of vintage glass marbles housed in an aqua-tinted screw-top mason jar. The assortment includes a mix of handmade and machine-made examples, with clear-base marbles featuring multicolor ribbon swirls, opaque white "milky" marbles, and solid yellow examples. Several of the larger clear marbles display bold internal ribbons in green, yellow, blue, and brown tones, characteristic of early machine-made swirl production, while the smaller opaque marbles reflect common play marbles of the period. Marbles of this type were produced widely in both the United States and Europe during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, sold loose or by the bag for children’s games. Groupings like this-kept together in household jars-are typical of how marbles survived over time, often accumulated through play rather than as curated sets. The aqua glass jar adds additional period appeal, complementing the colors and translucency of the marbles themselves.
Condition varies across the group. Marbles show expected surface wear, light scratching, and minor internal bubbles consistent with age and use. No cracks observed. Jar shows light surface wear consistent with storage.
