C-20541
Group of three salt-glazed stoneware storage jugs with Albany slip glazed shoulders and applied loop handles. Each example features a cylindrical cream-colored body with hand-thrown construction, dark brown glazed necks, and wide rounded shoulders typical of utilitarian American pottery from the early 20th century. One jug retains a hand-painted cobalt “5” capacity marking to the front.
All show some moderate to heavy wear throughout including surface scratches, glaze imperfections.
C-18627 – One seven inch crack coming from the bottom as shot.
C-18639 – 5" crack on one side.
C-18603 – No apparent cracks.
