Set of six black-painted side chairs in the Hitchcock taste with gilt stenciled crest rails, floral splat decoration, and turned front stretchers. The chairs feature shaped tablet backs, painted seats, and slender turned legs joined by stretchers. Original painted decoration remains visible throughout.
Shows heavy wear throughout including paint loss, scuffing, scratches, edge wear, and scattered finish deterioration consistent with age and use. Variations in wear and decoration are present from chair to chair. Chairs seem to be structurally intact.
