c. early 20th century; Landers Frary and Clark – New Britain, CT. Cast iron hand-crank meat grinder marked Universal No. 333, with clamp-on base for securing to a work surface and a turned wood handle grip. The body features raised lettering and retains its original grinding plate and internal auger, designed for processing meat and other foods in domestic kitchen use. Produced by Landers Frary and Clark under the Universal brand, a well-known manufacturer of early American kitchen tools and household goods.
Wear consistent with age and use, including surface oxidation, discoloration, and residue from prior use. Areas of rust present, particularly to interior components. Appears to be without damage.
