Grouping of three antique hand tools including a forged iron trident fork, a wooden-handled auger bit, and a small blacksmith’s or cobbler’s hammer. Each tool represents the robust, utilitarian craftsmanship of early American tradesmen-blacksmithing, carpentry, and general farm work. The forged ironwork and turned wooden handles display both functional design and the subtle individuality of handmade production before industrial standardization. American toolmakers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries produced a wide array of practical implements for trade and homestead use, with regional blacksmiths often forging specialized designs adapted to local needs.
All pieces exhibit moderate oxidation and surface wear typical of age and use; handles remain sound and structurally stable. Hammer is missing one rear prong.
