c. 1990s/2000s; Union Metallic Cartridge Co. – Bridgeport, CT Die-cut metal advertising sign in the form of a charging bull’s head reading "Shooting Gallery – Hit the Bull’s Eye with UMC Cartridges." The vivid red and amber tones, bold yellow lettering, and centered target-style "UMC" emblem replicate classic carnival and shooting gallery graphics associated with early 20th century ammunition promotion. The sign features a folded side flange for wall mounting and a glossy printed surface over metal substrate, capturing the look of original midway advertising while clearly produced as a later piece. Union Metallic Cartridge Co., founded in the 19th century and later absorbed into Remington, was a major American ammunition manufacturer known for highly graphic promotional materials aimed at sportsmen and carnival shooting galleries. This example recreates that bold fairground aesthetic-big color, strong typography, and unmistakable subject matter-without attempting to pass as an original period sign.
Minor surface scratches and light scuffing present. Structurally sound with clean edges and strong color.
