c. 1910s-1920s; Eclipse Lawn Mower Co. – Statesville, NC Early hand-pushed reel lawn mower with cast iron spoke wheels, wood grip handle, and original canvas grass catcher. The mower retains embossed “Eclipse” branding along the handle and cast “ECLIPSE MODEL” markings to the wheel hubs. The canvas catcher bears a “Hibbard” stencil mark to the interior and remains attached with its original wire framework. Includes period instruction sheets, adjustment wrench, and associated maintenance tools shown. The self-sharpening lever adjustment system remains present, along with the original roller bracket configuration for attaching the grass catcher referenced in the included paperwork.
Shows heavy age and surface wear throughout including oxidation, finish loss, dirt accumulation, staining, and fraying to the canvas catcher. Paperwork exhibits tears, brittleness, and losses from age. Untested for operation; sold as a display or restoration piece.
