Description

C-17483

c. 1910s-1920s; Venida Co. and Oxford (Victory Works) Original Venida "Capshape" real hair net in its illustrated paper envelope, accompanied by a packet of Oxford Extra Quality Japanned hair pins. The Venida packaging features a flowing-haired woman framed in delicate net graphics, advertising the brand’s self-conforming, invisible net "for women who care." Oxford pins, with their japanned (lacquered) black finish, were marketed as durable and rust-resistant. Hairnets and pins of this type were staple personal accessories in the early 20th century, especially during the Edwardian and flapper eras when hairstyles demanded secure yet discreet support. Together, these two examples reflect both the practicality and the elegance of period grooming products.

Paper envelope shows light creasing and age toning; hair net and pins intact with minor handling wear to packaging.

Package: 3.5" W x 1" H
