Hand-painted porcelain figurine numbered NR-27, titled The First Day of School, depicting a teacher greeting a mother and her bashful young son clutching his schoolbooks. Based on Norman Rockwell’s Saturday Evening Post cover from September 14, 1935, the piece captures Rockwell’s timeless sentimentality and gentle humor surrounding everyday American life. Produced by Dave Grossman Designs under license, each figurine in the NR series was modeled directly from Rockwell’s published illustrations.
Very good overall with bright coloration and minor wear to base only. No visible chips or cracks.
