C-18129

c. 1920s; A. & J. Manufacturing Co. – Binghamton, NY Vivid teal glass egg beater featuring a cast-metal top with exposed gear mechanism and a red-painted wooden handle. The interior twin beaters are driven by a smoothly turning crank wheel, demonstrating A. & J.’s hallmark balance of mechanical efficiency and domestic charm. The heavy glass base-both decorative and functional-reflects the vibrant material palette of 1920s kitchenware, designed for durability and everyday use. A. & J. Manufacturing Co., founded in Binghamton, New York in 1909, became one of America’s leading producers of household utensils and kitchen tools. Their patented hand-crank mixers and beaters were widely marketed through Sears, Montgomery Ward, and other major retailers throughout the early 20th century.

Light oxidation to the metal and minor wear to the red handle consistent with age; glass is clean and free of cracks.
