This is an original hand-pulled etching titled "Trap-ball" by British illustrator Stanley Berkeley, known for his late 19th-century depictions of sporting life and historical subjects. The scene portrays a lively moment in a rustic field game, an early precursor to baseball and cricket, rendered in fine detail and period costume. Originally appeared in an 1895 issue of Chatterbox published by Estes & Lauriat. Presented in a gold wooden frame with a speckled pink mat.
Some visible age toning to the paper and light foxing. Frame shows minor edge wear. This piece has not been inspected outside of the frame.
