A bright red vintage tin lithograph toy car body marked "Fire Dept" and "Chief" with cartoon firemen in the windows. Classic mid-century pressed tin styling with detailed litho graphics with a vehicle shape that resembles the nostalgia of 1940s vehicle trends. This tin toy very much resembles mid-century American tin vehicles produced by Louis Marx & Co., especially the way the litho art depicts the drivers, the simple pressed shapes, and the typeface.
Good vintage condition with surface wear, minor scratches, and light oxidation consistent with age. The winding mechanism of the vehicle still functioning, although a bit weak to move the car over a large distance. The red coloring is slightly faded due to sun exposure.
