This vintage metal whistle tag reads "Whistle for a Yellow Cab or phone CHerry 4900" in bold yellow text on black enamel. A classic mid-20th-century taxi advertising piece, designed to be worn on a keychain or lanyard and used to hail cabs. This items comes from Cleveland of 1930s, as seen from the last pic of an advertisement from The Cleveland Press newspaper of Cleveland, Ohio from Wednesday, February 18, 1931 (page 17)
Shows age-appropriate wear with scratches, scuffs, and some enamel loss consistent with use and storage. Works.
