Lot 258:
Description
C-17896
c. 1910s/1920s; Dazey Mfg. Co. – St. Louis, MO Square glass 6-quart butter churn with cast iron top, wood handle crank, and internal wooden paddles. Produced by the **Dazey Manufacturing Company of St. Louis, Missouri-founded in 1906 and widely recognized for their durable kitchenware and churns-**this No. 60 model was a household staple for generations. The churn’s glass jar body allows visibility of the churning process, while the hand-crank gear mechanism and wooden paddles illustrate practical, turn-of-the-century domestic engineering.
This churn displays its age honestly with light oxidation to the cast iron top, surface wear to the paddles, and faint scuffing to the glass body. Still, it retains a sturdy presence, making it both a collectible kitchen tool and a display-worthy artifact of domestic history.
