This framed 19th century lithograph is part of the Fantaisies series and is labeled "4e Livraison, No. 5" at upper right. Titled Quelques originaux de nos Concerts et Promenades publiques (Manzard), the piece satirizes the eccentric figures found at Parisian public concerts and promenades. Rendered in fine linework with expressive characterizations, the print was published by Bauger of Rue du Croissant, 16-one of the major publishers of caricature prints during the July Monarchy. This work exemplifies the biting social commentary and fashionable absurdity characteristic of French caricature during the Romantic period. Artist: Charles-Joseph Traviès de Villers (signed J.
