c. 1950s; Winchester-Western Division of Olin Mathieson Chemical Corp. – East Alton, IL/New Haven, CT Cast aluminum and hardwood "White Flyer" hand trap complete with original box and advertising insert. Produced by Winchester-Western, the sporting division of Olin Mathieson Chemical Corp., this hand trap was designed as a lightweight yet durable tool for throwing clay pigeon targets. The spring-loaded aluminum arms pivot from a coiled-steel neck and turned hardwood handle, producing consistent flight when paired with Western’s White Flyer targets. The original packaging showcases bold mid-century graphics in red, blue, and tan, featuring the company’s signature branding. A companion insert encourages shooters to replenish their supply of White Flyer targets through local dealers, reinforcing Western’s strong distribution network in postwar America.
Shows minimal wear with bright original finish, a clean wooden handle, and sharp graphics on the box. Insert card is intact with minor edge loss.
