This tinplate "Santa Fe" Middle States Oil tank car #553 was manufactured by Louis Marx & Co., a leading American toy company active from the early 20th century through the 1970s. Featuring lithographed silver and black detailing with the Santa Fe cross logo, the piece captures the look of mid-century rail freight cars in miniature. Marx train cars like this were often part of O-gauge electric train sets popular from the 1940s-1960s.
Light surface wear and scattered scratches to lithographed body. Wheels and couplers show light oxidation.
