C-17500
c. 1950s; Rich Manufacturing Co. – Tupelo, Mississippi Cowboy-themed toy guitar manufactured by Rich Toys and decorated with bold white graphics of Roy Rogers on horseback. Constructed of pressed wood with red finish, painted fretboard, and simple stringing, the guitar was part of Rich Toys’ Range Rhythm line of musical playthings. The piece comes with its original triangular cardboard box, printed with cowboy imagery and company branding. Roy Rogers, the "King of the Cowboys, " was one of the most popular Western stars of the mid-20th century, and licensed merchandise featuring his likeness was highly sought after by children during the 1940s and 1950s. This guitar reflects the era’s fascination with Western culture and the crossover between Hollywood and toy marketing.
Surface wear, scuffs, and paint loss present to body and graphics. Box retains legible branding and imagery with creasing, tearing, and edge wear from storage.
