Handmade patriotic folk art wall display featuring a painted wooden cardinal in flight paired with a long plank American flag. The cardinal is cut from a single board and finished in bright red with a black facial mask and yellow beak, accented with simple black brush lines to indicate wings and feathers. A small wood block mount at the center with a wire loop suggests it was originally suspended or possibly adapted from a weather vane-style ornament. The accompanying flag panel is painted in a weathered Americana palette with hand-rendered stars and stripes, giving the piece a deliberately rustic, homespun character.
Shows moderate age-related wear including scattered paint loss, edge wear to the bird’s wings and tail, minor chips along the cut edges, and general surface scuffs from handling and display. The flag plank retains its wire hanger and exhibits light surface wear and staining on the reverse consistent with age.
