Glossy brown-glazed stoneware jar with a squat, rounded body and applied loop handles at either side of the shoulder. The front is decorated with a hand-painted floral motif featuring a large red blossom surrounded by cream and green leaves, giving the otherwise utilitarian form a bright mid-century kitchen character. The jar’s wide mouth suggests it was intended for easy access storage—commonly used for cookies, biscuits, or pantry staples.
The form is simple and workmanlike, with softly rounded shoulders, a thick rim, and sturdy applied handles integrated into the vessel wall. The underside shows a buff stoneware base fitted with three cork pads, likely added later to protect countertop surfaces.
Shows moderate age-related wear including scattered glaze scratches and losses to the painted decoration. Cork pads are adhered to the base and may be later additions. No major structural cracks observed.
