Lot 334:
Description
C-19382
Elegant Victorian banquet-style oil lamp featuring a fluted column standard rising from a black stepped base to a richly embossed milk glass font in pale green and white. The font is decorated with raised floral and foliate garlands, capped by a pierced brass burner with ornate gallery. Included are both a tall clear chimney and a spherical white milk glass globe, allowing for alternate display configurations. The column shows classical influence with vertical fluting and a decorative cast collar above the base, while the burner retains its adjustment knob and perforated ventilation band typical of late 19th-century kerosene lighting.
Shows age-appropriate wear including surface oxidation and patina to the brass burner, minor spotting and residue to the chimney, and light surface marks to the milk glass globe. Large crack present from top to bottom of reservoir and general wear consistent with age and use.
30” H Globe: 9.75” dia
