Multi-Estate Spring 2026 Auction
Lot 297:
Description
C-19332
Salt-glazed stoneware jug with applied strap handle and stamped black transfer reading “Wm. Radam ‘Microbe Killer’ No. 2” across the shoulder. The form features a rounded dome shoulder, cylindrical lower body, and short collar lip intended for cork closure. The creamy glaze shows fine overall crazing and subtle kiln freckling, with a clear horizontal firing line visible at mid-body. The applied handle is solidly formed from shoulder to neck, and the typography remains legible with strong contrast against the light ground.
Shows scattered glaze crazing, surface discoloration, and visible cracking along the lower body, including a pronounced vertical crack extending upward from the base area. Additional surface wear and minor glaze imperfections consistent with age. Structurally intact but with notable age-related cracking.
6.5" dia and 10.75" H
